He is an active member of OSSI and has organised Bariatric & Metabolic surgery Live workshop & conference for 3 times in Bangalore including the recent single  theme conference on MGB. He actively participates as faculty/delegate in IFSO/ OSSI conferences and has contributed to progress of Bariatric specialty in our country. The chapter "Role of Bariatric Surgery in Developing Economies" written by him in the book- Evidence Based Practices in GI Surgery - is well appreciated. He has drawn the attention of the Bariatric community to the issue of Orthostatic Intolerance after Bariatric Surgery and Small Incision Rive's Stoppa(SIRS) technique for ventral hernias in obese patients. His vision is to strengthen OSSI and make it a vibrant national body.
